I had to fill out a form to buy chicks at TSC in NC

I use TSC if I have an emergency. I have found the neatest Mom&Pop feed store just outside of town. If I need something, they will order it for me.

If I went to TCS and told them I needed something they didn't have, they didn't care. And they wouldn't go to the trouble of ordering it either.

TSC has been doing some crazy stuff for a while now. The last few times I have been in there to buy stuff they ask for a phone number and address even thoughh I pay cash every time. I have told them every time that I was not disclosing that kind of information to them and if it meant they wouldn't sell me the merchandise then I would go somewhere else to buy it. They acted as if I had cussed their mothers when I would not give them the information.

I'm done with them!!!

I bought chicks at the Asheboro Tractor Supply a few weeks ago. I did not have to fill out anything. They would not even help me when I asked for it. The guy said there are the chicks, here are the boxes, help yourself.

I refuse to buy anymore from them. I would rather pay more to Westons Farm Store or wait for Southern States to get their chicks in. I go to church with the manager of Southern States in Asheboro.

The phone number thing is just to track your shopping habits. It is the same thing the grocery stores do. You use the discount card to save a little money and they get all kinds of info on your buying habits. You can do a little research and read all about it. They have all your info in their system and pretty much everything you have purchased since you received the discount card. That is if you use it each visit.

Some companies want your info to use for future advertising. They just gather info. Like the trade shows we set up a booth at. We have a drawing for something free. Everyone and their brother fills it out in hopes to win the prize. At the end of the day we have a box full of names, phones numbers and e-mail addresses.

You're right. I was at a hardware store that had been selling chicks and they had advertised their NO MINIMUM policy for chicks that were in the store (there was a minimum for ordering chicks.) I wonder why TSC is doing this? It seems bad for business to me.

the first round of chicks (10) that I bought from TSC we didn't fill anything out, but the young boy cashier was flustered and the line was long, so that could have had something to do with it. then the second round (two days later

) when I got 6 chicks I was asked to fill it out. and I asked for what, because the paper said it needed your DL info, and I wasn't going to give that out without knowing what for. and the cashier said it was for the hatchery, incase something was reported about the chicks (like disease or illness) then they could contact me to let me know and they would have a record of my purchasing the chicks. I don't know how much of this is true, or if she was making stuff up to just have an answer, but I filled it out name, address, and fake number...no DL# needed she said. I know it must be some type of tracking of some sort, but they don't know about the 10 I bought a few days before!

Wow, NC has gone all postal! I'll stick to my local fellow fanatics and the mom-n-pop feedstore just out of orneriness. Y'all need to come up with a clever name/address/phone no. to use in these cases. If they're gonna mess with your info, you get to mess with their heads/IT dweebs!
