I had to put my 10 day old duckling in with my 3 day old duckling for safety reasons, and she’s been screaming for 6 hours! HELP PLEASE! 😩

Good afternoon,

I had to put my youngest duckling in the brooder with our new baby because the other 2 are significantly larger and they peck at her a bit and have a hard bite.
I don’t think they are trying to hurt her, but it could happen..

I put her in this morning at 7:30, and she’s been SCREAMING nonstop since then.
I’m trying to work and I feel like I’m going to lose my mind!
Anyone with ducklings know that they can be VERY LOUD!
I fully understand she bonded with the other 3, and misses them, but I’m doing this for her own good.
She now has a companion closer to her age, and my baby needs a companion as well. I felt so bad that she was all alone.

Does anyone have any advice?
Should I put her back and take the chance of her getting hurt?
Should I buy some earplugs?

Here a pictures of the size difference.

Thank you so much!!!! 🥰

Awww that’s so sad she looks so happy with the big ones even though they’re three times her size! I don’t know what you should do but it’s sad she’s crying for them :( does the other very little duckling seem happy to have a friend or is she as distressed as the middle sized duckling? Also do they have names? It’d make it easier to tell you which duckling I’m talking about!! Well anyway good luck!

So she's now in with a duckling closer to her age?

She likely imprinted on the bigger ducklings, but no I wouldn't take the risk with that size difference. Tough love, let her adjust and find comfort in her new sibling. She should calm down soon enough.

Is there any way to adjust their setup so she can still see her friends? (See but no touch).
