I hatched a chick...

Alright this chick is slightly moving,do you think he should be hatched by morning?

It depends. You still haven't said whether it was just a pip or if it was zipping. If zipping, it should be out by morning. If just a pip, sometimes it takes 24 hours to progress.

Sometimes it takes 5 minutes, sometimes 18 hours...  Hatching is a patience game.  Some chicks already have there yolk fully absorbed when they start pipping, some have just started absorbing the when they make that first crack.  It's very hard work escaping the calcium fortress.  Best of luck! :jumpy

Exactly. I had a malpositioned zipper in my last hatch. It stopped halfway through and hadn't made any progress after 20 min, so I peeled the top back and stuck it back in, and he promptly kicked out. Turns out he still had a ton of yolk left, despite zipping halfway by himself, and had to be euthanized after his intestines prolapsed. Each chick is different!

Ok,chicks has pecked threw the egg sack, and is peeping VERY LOUDLY.The egg all around is cracked, but the baby is still not out.The egg looks like it's been stepped on actually, maybe when I was holding them up to the light or listening for peeps it got cracked as i replaced it?Regardless the chicks is alive and sounds like it's ready.

It's defiantly dry in there (Dryer then the last guy.)just hope he makes it our safely without his siblings stepping all over him (They did that to our bantam chick.)

You need to stop taking it out from under the mother hen. Sorry to be blunt, but it really is a case of "Momma knows best"! The hen will do it just fine without you. ;)
