OK so let me get this straight you went to the grocery store and to the egg section that is kept cold and bought eggs and then hatched them??

I thought once in the frig that they wouldnt be fertile anymore.???

Do you have to ask for fertile eggs at Whole Foods?

Yup, mmajw, these were refrigerated chicken eggs in the egg case at the store. I think they are still fertile once cooled, viability just goes down.

You said it, yellowdragon, these are a lot cheaper than hatching eggs, but they are not going to be that much variety. I am still planning on what I should get next.

But you can remind hubby that these were marked as fertile. Just any egg from the egg case probably isn't going to hatch.

bayouchica, I had emailed the company, and they said that these were Leghorn and Hy-line, though I wonder if they a leghorn Hy-line. Since these are hybrids, who know what I will end up with.

justino15, your posts helped inspire me to try this, sorry SOnny ended up so aggressive. I think I have some roos too, but I am roo-paranoid.
