I hate bubble wrap

Will have to post pic, when I pack my next peafowl eggs. REALLY have shipped hundreds and not one broken in the last 3 yrs.

no longer use bubble wrap, remember to keep egg away from the side of the box, i use shipping peanuts, and a few other tricks.

I LOVE bubble wrap!

I use to wrap in bubble wrap, but the eggs do need to breath.

What makes you say that eggs need to breathe?
I believe there is always room for improvement and if they do indeed NEED to breathe while traveling, I'd change my wrapping/packing.

Wrapped like this:

They are easysleasy to unwrap --- one snip with scissors and they roll right out.

If I open a box and see shipping peanuts, I quickly tape it back up and chuck the whole mess in my burn pit. I think packing depends on just how many an individual ships. If you only ship one or two batches a year then home grown methods are OK. For example paper towels, wadded newspaper, egg cartons etc. If you are shipping a lot of eggs a method using a consistancy of easily obtainable packing materials is necessary. Bubble wrap is the best in my opinion for packing. Unless you form an airtight seal the egg shouldn't be smothered by this packing.

well, i personally like this thread. i was thinking about selling some of my pekin eggs once we get all three hens laying. i didn't know how to do it. but after this, i think i'd wrap it in bubblewrap and then possible put some packing peanuts in the box just for extra cushion. i wouldn't want someone to pay for eggs and have them break.

I recently received 2 shipments of eggs from a BYCer. They were wrapped in bubble wrap and nestled in packing peanuts, and all were intact. Most eggs I receive come wrapped in bubble wrap, and all is good. Some are wrapped in layers of paper towels, and packed in newspaper, and good also. The trick is to cushion them from each other and also from the outside of the box, I think. Lots of packing material...............

You know what is good too - buy some eggs and see how others do it. Some of mine come in cartons, some bubble wrap and newspaper, but most in bubble wrap and peanuts.

I use whatever I have as far as packing, but I always wrap in bubbles.

i individually wrap each egg in bubble wrap and my eggs all arrive safe and sound, and aside from fertility issues they usually hacth as well I am finding through my own experimentation that puting Live embryos on the box or "live" anything increases the chance of not getting scrambled eggs.
