I hate fire works

I hate the fireworks, it takes all the fun out of the 4th of July for me. I don't know when it turned into a meaningless pile of exploding crap but it's too bad. Since they are legal here in our unincorporated little town everyone from El Paso, TX comes out here, buys them, no we don't profit from them, shoots them off and leaves piles of trash all over. It's the fireworks, their garbage and beer bottles, diapers, you name it. They leave it all over our desert and don't feel the least bad about it. EL PASO GO HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND DON'T COME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fireworks are illegal where I live - like that stops anyone. The neighbors three doors down have been popping off fireworks for 3 days now. My poor dog is in the house, I have been feeding him his anti-anxiety meds, the stereo is running (easy listening, yech!) and I have two of my younger dogs spending tonight and tomorrow night at my vet's office since I have to work nights and I am worried. I so just want to be home to comfort my babies (and myself). I am guessing at this point that I am probably more stressed than they are (I hope). I will worry about them all night and tomorrow night. :-(
I have this horrible ongoing ifear that I will come home and find my house burnt down with all my loved ones trapped inside. It's worse for the 4th of July and New Year's. I wanna go home.................

I dont like fireworks about 3 or 4 years ago i was young like in middle school lol I got shot by one of those huge tube rocket fireworks because the neighbors across the street were smoking weed and rinking so they thought it would be funny to kick it over and it hit me. It hurt so bad. the rest of the night i watched the fireworks in the vehicle lol

I HATE THEM!!!!

My horses freak out and always break out of the fencing. I am worried about fires because it is so dry here, so I can't enjoy a nice bbq away from home. I must babysit the horses. (I also give them a great big dose of Mare Magic too.)

I have a dog that I got from the pound that was shot at previously for target practice. Well, the poor thing hasn't eaten in 2 days b/c she is sooooooo upset. I am going to have to tranquilize her tomorrow evening. Dum dums are already setting them off.

Cant stand them!!!!! Uncivilized in my humble opinion.

I love a good fireworks SHOW, we will be home tomorrow evening so we can man the hoses if someone fool shoots one off when and where they should not - they are totally illegal in our county due to fire danger - but there are those that smuggle them in. I do think sparklers should be legal, with adult supervision - they are fun to play with.
One year, when I was young, yes back in the stone age, we arrived home after a long day at the beach and a wonderful fireworks show. Including the fools (my uncles) who shot off their own. When we got home our dog was not in the front yard, he had broken through a screen window and was in the house. As my dad was getting him out, another dog (stranger to us) leaped out of the same window and dashed off through the now open gate. We still don't understand how that little dog got in the yard in the first place, but good that they both sheltered together.

Am soooo glad to find kindred souls here. I hate fireworks too. Live in a small town, legal to fire them to your hearts content and pocketbook limits! So every year I have bits and pieces of bottle rockets, bombs and various other things on my roof, all over my lawn, in and on my animals' homes, in my trees. Have to spend a lot of time cleaning other people's mess out of my yard. Oh, I need to hush up now!

(Around here, I seem to be the ONLY one who feels this way!)

There's ALWAYS a burn ban around this time of year from lack of rain . . . which of course never stops anyone, so the fire fighters are kept busy. They make the cattle jump fences, which is a pain in the bum . . . and our fences are not low! Ruined a perfectly good bull one year when his scrotum got caught on the fencing.

I do buy those chickens that shoot "eggs" out the back. Those are cute, and it's all the fire cracker I need to feel complete in my celebrations.

I hate them for one reason, my brother. He's one of those idiots that likes to make mini-bombs just to see how loud he can get them. My sister's fiance is the same way, so its twice as bad this year. My goats get so freaked, I have to sit in the pasture and talk to them until its all over. We usually go to the college and watch them, but this year we're staying near home so my goats will have someone to comfort them when things get rough. If its anything like New Years, Im going to be out there half the night.

I thought I'd fix this up a bit. I do love fireworks, I love going to the shows that are set up and watching them. They're an amazing sight and real fun to go to with the family just to hang out. I hate what stupid people do with them. It seems like its fun for them to do the most illegal thing possible, and that ruins it for others.

i love them..... although none are set off anywhere near my house, well except the little ones I do in the road well away from my critters. Here in mi, it's illegal to use the ones that blow up, fly or explode in any way.... so sparklers, fountains etc...... and somehow my son's favorite are the screamers........ ACK!

Not out here!

They arent allowed here but are a few towns over... too much of a fire hazard.

I'm always amazed when I go to other states, especially in the midwest and there
are huge stores /warehouses selling them all year around right off the freeway.
Do people there set them off all the time?
