I hate fire works

I've never liked them. I'm not fond of loud noises myself and could never understand why everyone liked them so much. My dog and my mother's dog both hide when they are going off.

Though I live in the country, we live on a river with a lot of canoe liveries/campgrounds and a lot of yahoos have stuff going off all night long or are drunk enough to whoop and holler all night long.

If anyone listens to Bob & Tom, whenever they do the "Real Girls on video going--whoooo!--and--whoo-hooo!--with loser drunk guys going--yeah! (faint clapping)" that is what our area sounds like during holiday weekends.

I never like them but We have to put up with
the noise they are legal here. but since we are a way s out of the city it isnt too bad. Still we worry about fires.
and the guns going off. those bullets have to land some place.
we stay home and watch out for our animals.

There are going to be plenty of fireworks around here. The girls will have put themselves up and I will have closed their pop door before the fireworks stop. My only fear this year is fire. We have more than a 7 inch rain deficit this year and things are mighty dry.

every 4th and new years I have to sit outside to keep my mare calm... she will jump the fence and run off... she is a mustang and she has always been real skittish around loud noises and confined areas

people around here always light off fireworks, when they are not supposed to. I always worry about my chinchillas, and other animals. I am bringing in my chickens because this will be their first year hearing fireworks and they were all ready spooked. I hate the little pieces of cardboard and other parts of the fireworks because they always fall into my fish pond and pool. Happy 4th everyone, hopefully everyones animals will be okay with the fireworks this year.

does this make sense? our county is under a burn ban do to really dry conditions... but they are allowing people to buy fireworks and to set off fire works... I just hope the people in my area use common sense and not do them...

I love fireworks. We can see them real well from our yard about 4 miles away. I like to get close for the noise though. We just put the dogs in the house. Horses don't get upset.

One of my dogs has developed a true phobia for fireworks, in the last year. She is 6 years old and never had a problem before. She is a hunting dog and doesn't have problems with guns. She wines and will climb the fence to get out (I don't know why because she is safer inside the yard). Thunder has become a problem too.
