I had some of that tape that they use to delineate property boundaries, bright orange and I swathed the top of the run with it, it flaps about and looks terrible but it stops my girls escaping and would work to keep predators out. A couple of bucks in dollar store. Hope that helps

If you look around in the tree tops you may see him sitting waiting watching. A bullet would fix him.

It is a Federal offense to shoot a raptor.

I Would DEFINITELY and I mean DEFINITELY shoot him if I could. But the law says you'll go to jail if any harm , on your part, comes to a hawk. I guess you could do it secretly though. I would feel a little guilty though. I mean, I used to LOVE Hawks before I moved and got farm animals. :/I'd do it, if I didn't end up in jail :/

There's been hardly any snow this year, uncharacteristically warm, in centra bc Canada it's normally -20 by now.


Sadly I lost one more chicken today, she was my favourite and only 6 mo just started laying. No idea what Cuddy had wrong with her but Cameron's was right as rain yesterday when I put her to bed, this morning she's dead. So sad.
Spent three hours deep cleaning coop, and looked over all my 7 remaining chickens.

I am so sorry I know its hard to loose these guys after raising them only to feed the stupid hawk. I hope the best for you and your remaining chickens. I used to live in Montana it wasn't uncommon for it to get down -20. I am surprised you guys are getting warm weather wow!!
