This past few months have not been the best to start with, but the other day was the real killer. I get a no return address envelope addressed to me and hubby. Open it up and a typed, unsigned letter begins to accuse me of stinking up the clean air around here from all the piles of chicken poo. What cowards! They also accused me of having my animals in dirty conditions and bringing more flies into the neighborhood and threatening my health and theirs. They said they could not sit on their porch and breath in the clean air because of the noise my animals make and the poo smell! They said to get rid of some of my animals or move were I have no neighbors! That some of them had been discussing calling the county. AGHHHHHHHHHHH @#$&%*!!!
For one, anyone who knows me, knows I take great care of my animals. My Vet even says he wants to come back as one of my critters when he dies. There is not a pile of poo to be seen and although animals come with a certain smell and mess, everyone that comes over always complements me on how nice everything is and how there are little flies or smell. I always do my best to keep up with my critters and I use lime, DE, fly stations etc. etc. to make sure it stays in check. This just burns me. I have a privacy fence around my whole back yard, so how could someone tell what's going on anyway? My neighbor behind me and beside me( I'm on a corner lot) love my animals and are always coming over to the ZOO. Anyone who could smell some of my chickens poo from 350 plus feet away must have super smelling powers. They are just being mean. I have lived here for 14 years in this AR zoned area with no problems. New people move out here and now they think it's a country club or something. I have about 2 acres, and yes I do have a lot of critters. But most I have had for a long time. We had planned on moving and getting 10 acres somewhere until the Navy let my husband go after 17.5 years when they messed up his lungs and hardly gave us crap. So we are still here with our little farm, keeping to ourselves, staying out of others business, never complaining about others. I put up with the kids starting a band, late night parties, 4 wheelers and dirt bikes screaming up and down the road, dogs barking, kids screaming , animals trespassing and they have the nerve to threaten me! My neighbor on the other side is a police officer, and he use to work animal complaint cases. He said to ignore it and I am fine. So did another officer, but I still worry. My other neighbor said I could fence off some of there property if I need to, but this all just really urks me.. I use to like this place. It use to be full of nice people. Now I can't wait to get out.
