I only hate the hatchery ones that have like no crest, and not fluff, what seems like normal feathers. But almost no hatchey bird is up to standards. I don't show, I just like pure breeds. But of course, this subject is just for fun! [IMG]

    tazcat70 I must be crazy!

When I first saw them I thought they were weird. But they kinda grow on a person. Like a fungus! [IMG]

I think I'd tame a coon and keep it as a pet in my house...

I have a question though - as a newbie to chickens - I have lots...but I was told that silkies make great setters...and I was considering getting some...are they really mean? Or would my children be able to play with them the way they do my hens and roasters?

Little-re-hen, they are extremely nice and they don't bite..this is just a joke purplechicken is pulling...they are tame, and are good broodies....good luck.

Thanks guys! I think I will tempt fate and play with evil...

  10. Now I get it! My silkies are only pretending to be sweet puffs of fluff. They are waiting until they have me in their power, with my back turned - then they'll attack. No wonder they are such good broodie hens - they are hoping to take over the world.

Beware! Must secure silkie pen. Too late! They have been given free roam of backyard. They have infiltrated the safe zone. They have recruited the other chickens to their plan. There is no hope.

Wait! Up in the sky! It's a bird. It's a plane - It's the RED TAIL HAWK!!!

    There is still hope.
