I hate this polar vortex!

I bought plastic to put around the coops. It helped a lot. I spent less than $10, so worth it. Also insulated the coop with feed bags.
5° wind chill in GEORGIA?! I am reeling. It's almost over though, right? I'm sure all your birds will make it just fine :)
I’m in the north Georgia mountains—yes we have mountains at one end of the state and semi tropical at the other end.
I’m reeling too. This cold is bitter. Roll on Sunday with warmer temps in the 30s.
I have heavy curtains and the newly added coop has hard plastic panels (forgot what they are called). There are gaps but most wind is blocked. Despite all of this it is frigid.
The birds free range all day and can get out of the wind and find sunny spots. I just wish they could get a break from the unrelenting cold.

Fish need breathing holes in the ice?! Uh oh  Im a bad fish mommy
I read somewhere that they need it. My pond is small and not very deep. I can see them under the ice. They’ve survived a few winters.
You’re not supposed to break the ice as it can kill them so I put a large metal bowl on top overnight and fill it with boiling water in the morning. When I remove it there’s the hole.
