I hate this website!!(kind of)

and after all of this..... today at bedtime(for the 5 year old) I found out they are hatching 12 eggs in kindergarten.

She said there are 12.. take all or none, they go together. I asked her if she wanted them..... She tilted her head and looked at me(like my wife, her mother) and said 'Mommy wouldn't like that!' This coming from the girl who hand feeds our current ones daily.

I think I would be sleeping with the chicken with those 12... I guess I am done for the year.... There is always next year....

My DH says we are all chicken-olics and we should all seek counciling.

We wanted three hens. That turned into wanting five after I read that sometimes the sexing is wrong. Then I went and bought six because how can you just buy five? Odd numbers are so awkward. The next week I bought two more because I just got kind of excited, I can't really explain it.

My husband found out a week later (he was out of town) and just laughed and laughed. What else can you do, really... we have eight adolescent chickens now.

The other day he declared that next year we are buying two more. Black Australorps, he says. Cool!

Hi I was wondering what kind of roo that is in your pic? I have 4 hens I bought at market that look alot like him. ( white with perfect black spots that are green tinged) but with out the feathers on the top of the head. An Amishman at market told me that they were called dominos but I am not sure. Any info woudl be great

LOL! I'm surprised my husband doesn't forbid me to come here!! After reading all of the Old MacDonald posts, I practically drove him crazy telling him how everyone on here has LOTS of animals (my dream, really, is to be sort of an urban farmer, LOL!).. He thinks we have quite enough with our 2 dogs, 4 cats, guinea pig, and our 13 chickens on the way... WAH! It totally feeds into my repressed desire to be surrounded by warm, furry & feathered cozy little bodies.

Ah, well! Love this site! And dh can always be 'worked on'.

My DH was NOT happy about bringing home our first four girls (ahem... one turned out to be a boy) but now he swears they are the best pets ever!

We started with four, got two more, got two more, got one more, lost a couple.... and to make a long story short, I now have eight adults and nine two day olds!

I just hatched 15 Naked necks, plus I have 20 something turkey eggs in my bator, 2 goose eggs, eggs from my own chicken (I HAVE to check fertility!), eggs from Pasochicken, and more eggs on the way!

BoilerJoe- you're from Indiana, right? There's always Chickenstock to "Unload excess chickens!" The trouble is, you always end up bringing more home!
Please come!!!!
