I hate this website!!(kind of)

HAHA... yeah... we should hand these little ones out for free... then, when people get hooked we can start charging $$$

I can see it now... a guy on the corner in a dark trenchcoat, "Come on kid... they won't hurt you... everyone is doing it... you won't get hooked.... don't you want to be cool like all your friends?"

Oh boilerjoe_96 you only just begun. Since finding this group I know have 50 some hens, 12 roosters, 4 ducks, 30 eggs in the incubator(just wait until that bug bites you), 53 5 week old chicks plus I just picked up 8 at a swap meet. Oh and I have 25 coming from Sandhill soon. Nope I hate to say but your only in the beginning stages of addiction. Sorry to hear there is no cure also. Isn't it great!

Well I had a particularly bad week of work last week and you know I just enjoyed sitting and watching the happy birds. It calmed me...

So, Momof182, or anyone else. I am going to get all these birds(minus the broilers of course) that my daughters will be come attached to. I will have eggs coming out ofmy ears. With 50 hens(momof182) you must sell the eggs. What else could you do with 40(guessing) eggs a day....

(Wanted a separate post for this question)

ChickenMoms/Ladies....

How do I get the wife, who has adjusted to country life reasonably well(we have 23 acres) to get to love the chickens??

BoilerJoe ... how can you tell pullets from roos at 2 weeks old??? I have 4 chicks, 3 weeks old. Is that old enough to post pictures here and have people ID their sexes for me, since I'm new at this? THANKS!

Feed her some fresh eggs. That does it for everyone. Or, when she comes home from work after a stressful day, have her go out with a glass of wine and a chair to watch the chickens.
I have anxiety disorder and if anything can calm me down, chickens can! They've taught me that it's really not so bad. I can come home ready to fly off the handle and those silly birds make me snap back to reality!

I think your wife will come around.....who could resist those adorable little chicks...no one...not for long anyway!! I give her a week, and she'll fall in love with them! Be patient. I'm enjoying my 4 wk old chicks....they are so much fun to watch.
