I hate where I live .....

Hopefully they were just interested in the design of your coop. My friend and I sometimes see something we like at a house and stop to look, only to see how they did it. We have stopped and looked at garden plots, chicken coops, baby lambs in the field, stuff like that and I'm sure the folks that own the property wondered what we were up to. We weren't invasive, just getting ideas for our own gardens and yards. Maybe it was just something innocent like that.

Stuff like this really ticks me off, I really don't understand why someone would do this...why not raise your own chicken instead of staling someone elses?!
We used to have a 4ft chinlink fence up around our yard that the chickens live in but we put up a 6.5' privacy fence for them and keep it locked. Now we only have to worry about people who are walking stopping by when we have it open and asking if our roosters are mean, usually thugy teenagers. So we pick them up and carry them around like babies lol

well if they were trying for a fighting rooster the only roo I have is a little banty guy ! and I would love to see someone try and grab him ( fast little sucker !! )

The dog I plan on having babysit the coop - is my three legged hound dog - so I really dont think anyone would want her except me LOL

I am going to post some signs today on the fence around the coop - you know the normal " keep out " , no tresspassing . video cameras etc... and I am going to look into those fake cameras I would like to mount one on top of the coop even if I have to run " wires " to really make the look real I will.

Heck if they want to know how I built the coop I would have gladly made some blueprints for them - I have no problem doing that.

if I knew that the person doing the looking was only seeing what kind of chickens I have out there I would have told them - I would even be interseted in swapping a few hens with some of my neighbors to get a few diff. breeds in there.

Maybe I'm not trusting enough, but it seems to me that if this person was only interested in the design of the coop, he would not have made a hasty 'escape' when you stepped outside. Most folks like that would speak up rather than run off.

Think if it were me, I'd be on even higher alert now. Sheeesh......good luck to you.
