The way you wrote your thread title I thought you hated winter and hated your ducks. But, now I see that you meant you and your ducks hate winter.
It was so cold here today (with real snow ) that my ducks went ahead and put themselves to bed before I went out there to do it. I imagine they were just as tired of the wind, cold, and snow as I was and winter isn't even officially here. I can't wait for January and February if the November weather is this frigid.

That title was chosen on purpose, i love to make people think!
Of course i don't hate my ducks! - At least not very often…
Hey, i lived in Houston, TX for the last 10 years, that is my first Winter in WV! So for me today we received an avalanche of snow!

Thank you very much for the good wishes! Just soaked my foot in hot water with epsom salt (no i don't have bumble foot!) and my wife bandaged the joint, let's see how it works out.

In Missouri some parts got 3-9 inches of snow. I was in the spot that got 5 inches and it sucks.

We just got one inch! I can't imagine how 5 inches are.

We received a good amount of snow. Cory climbed into his home, while our other three wandered around the pool. They have the option to escape into their “coop” but decided to stay in the snow. One duck who hates the cold, three who love it!

After i managed to shoo my duckies onto their platform -finally they realized that i was angry with them and played »nice sweet ducky«…
Limpy went straight to bed on his own, i think he hates winter and snow the same like me. The other four ran all over their platform talking, watching and catching the snowflakes.

The light snow continued for the whole day and we picked up about an inch. In the evening the wind picked up here and it feels really, really cold. The ducks are as frustrated as i am and took it out on me: Playing games like making a sharp right turn at the door and running back to the pool and through the mud until i slipped and fell… Now i am limping like Limpy Duck.

I know how you feel, we have the coop on a hill and it is pure ice leading up to it.

We had to keep our ducks in their run for two days because they were stupid and stayed out in a blizzard. They nearly got frostbite and were having issues walking. Our ducks are stupid but we love them.

I know how you feel, we have the coop on a hill and it is pure ice leading up to it.

My duck-platform sits on a hill-site below the house, at the moment that hill is mud full of small triangular footprints, i just wait for that will freeze solid…

I don't know what mine might do in a blizzard, they haven't seen one in their life's, but they enjoyed being out in the heaviest thunderstorms during the summer. Hail? - Who cares, i'm wearing my built-in down jacket! So i assume during a blizzard my ducks will be crazy enough to try to build a snow-duck…
