Update: My Duckies just baffled me again! For two days now i am using that orange bucket to haul warm water to the duck platform and the rubber bowl outside.
When i went outside at 8pm my duckies came running at me, quacking and nagging and i knew the water in their bowl has frozen again. I grabbed that orange bucket and - silence! My ducks knew i would come back with water and were patiently waiting at the bowl.
They learned »big orange thing = water from humon« in just two days.
