I'm not really sure, but I think that accidently breathing chicken dander causes a mental inability to due poultry math. 1 pullet + 1 pullet = 44

It's a vicious cycle that has no end.

It all started so innocently with six eggs and a styrofoam bator, and now I have over a hundred.......

Hehehehe... I started with 10 in 2006. Then it went up to about 20 the second year, and now I have over 100... Soon that number will explode as eggs start hatching in another week or two...

And that's just chickens... I have about 40 quail at the moment, and another 50 coturnix eggs in the incubator (due starting Tuesday) and 39 button eggs in there.

They are called pullets until they are a year old ....

Good luck with the addiction .....we started off with 1 hen that was roosting in a tree out back . Grand daughter found 2 eggs in a nest under the tree . that was the start of a whole new ball game ( or rather EGG GAME )

We now have close to 100 head .... 2 coops and 3 runs and DH keeps adding more weekly .....

I have to agree that this site is addictive!! I was innocently reading when I saw "I hate", had to read it... saw Nifty response & saw sister site.... BY COWS... now you have gone & done it . I asked for a horse NO DH said, asked for cow NO.... donkey NO... chickens he said yes to... Now we are waiting for March to build our chicken coop for 25 chickens! Please Nifty, no more websites. It could ruin a beautiful relationship!! I would be very happy if DH would let me have two little itty-bitty goats!! The chicken coop could be enlarged to hold just tow goats!! I would quit asking for a cow!!
