So far I have 3 Old english game birds completly out, 3 RIR's out, 1 Black jersey giant out, and 2 Delaware out. I have 1 BCM almost out of the shell. I have 3 of every thing above peeping with just little places on the shell except BCM. I guess it would be a total of 9 completly out and peeping away at the world. My cat is fine with everything because she is use to the chicks being around and she loves to watch them and curl up around the brooder. She has never shown any interest in hurting any birds we ever had. The new male ( fixed ) is completly different. He is really interested in the sounds and the movement of the chicks. He has made no moves toward them BUT I would never leave him alone around them. I love little Danni and I am not a cat person but He loves to chase things and he is only 4 months old. He is to much of a kitten to be trusted around the new babies.
Well I will update as things progress. I understand that Jersey Giants take a little longer to hatch and some of the eggs got set at different times as much as a day and a half later so I expect things to go till at least Monday. They do look cute though and I will get pictures up tomorrow. By the way the tummy is feeling better. We think it was the new diadeties meds so we are holding off till Monday as the Doc wants me to do. Later, Dave
Well, it sounds as if things are going well, Dave.
I have had good luck with my kitties and chicks. Even though my cats have mostly been hunters, they seem to know enough not to bother the chicks, although I certainly would not trust one who is only four months old!

Thanks alot. I have a BCM I don't think is going to make it. It is just not moving around much and looks like it is drying up in the shell. I hate to mess with it but I just may have to if it going to make it. I thimk I will give it 1 more hour. I just had a Delaware to hatch so I think that gives me about 12 out now. Thanks for the wishes and talk with you folks tomorrow unless something else happens. Later, Dave
I think my dad had the same stomache upset on his DB med. Though we didnt figure it out for a while. And his appetite was poor and he lost a good bit of weight. Glad to hear you might have the culprit...
