In the Brooder
Ok so I have a broody hen that's been sitting on fertile eggs. I also have other chickens that insist on laying in the box with my broody hen. So it's day 19 and I picked up my broody hen to collect the infertile eggs under her and noticed a pip!!! I can see the baby moving inside so it defiantly hatching. When I put the hen back in the box she kicked the egg and then settled down for the night. I'm super worried because the egg turned upside down. Do I need to be worried? Should I take her out again to turn it back up? I don't want to handle it anymore then necessary plus I assume my mother hen knows what she's doing. Let me know what you would do???
