At the moment I have three chicks that hatched four days ago. One of my hens is quite old and I really wanted to keep one of her offspring so I incubated a few chicks. Three hatched, but I want to sell two and keep just the one as I don't have space for all three. But whenever I take the two I'm wanting to sell out of the brooder the other chick chirps like crazy.
so I have no idea what to do. I either sell just one chick and keep two, but then the one on its own will get lonely; or I sell the two and keep the one, but will it become depressed and want it's friends back??
I have three broody hens at the moment. One of them has been broody 5 times before, but she has 2 chicks both 3weeks old. Would she accept the chick I want to keep? She once accepted 4 week old chicks but hadn't had any other chicks at that moment.
Please help, advice and other suggestions strongly appreciated!!!
