I have a male Coturtix quail that is ripping the front neck skin open of females

He has almos decapitated, my female quills. It is torn straight across the neck and the skin is exposing their internal flash. I’ve been raising for a few years and I’ve never seen anything like this, please help.
He has been removed from the group of 18 females with only 2 males. They have a lot of space, food and water and a sand pit to hide in… don’t know what it could be

Are you sure that it's your male doing this? That sounds more like a predator of some sort.

If you're sure it's your male, I'd invite him to dinner.

Also check for loose wires or a protruding nail, skin can get caught and tear just like fabric.

That really doesn't look like quail on quail violence to me.

Is there a gap large enough for a rat to get in? Are there any sharp edges that she could injure herself on?
