i have a quail that blew up like a balloon *PIC*

I picked it up and it felt like a balloon. Its has a massive amount of air between the body and skin.

In the short time since I picked this chick up, its tripled in size. I'm going to cull.

Awww, poor thing. I wonder if it had some kind of infection that was releasing gasses into its body? Did you cull it? I would like to know if you do an autopsy, and what your findings are if you do.

OMG! I am so sorry to hear about your Quail! I am sorry that you had to cull her/him.

I culled and fridges him. I will do a quailtopsy tomorrow. In my quail squeezings I found one other wil a small air pouch like this. I've isolated it with a healthy quail from another bin to see if it "gets it" too.

Is That Actually Air Sac Or Abdominal Distention? I Have Seen Chicks Get Pasty Butt And Bloat Up Like This From Consipation. Be Interesting To Hear Your Necropsy Results

I did it I had my son hold it in-case it went whizzing off like a balloon but it just deflated quickly no bother and now he's back to normal size. I hope it worked and it doesn't come back
