I have a single chick and i cant afford another one

It can go to cooler areas if it's hot but it will die if it's not warm enough, have one warm area is very important at this age.

its currently on its highest setting, shes sleepinf soundly, and she has an open area to go if shes too hot, thank you for ur help

I'd urge you to consider rehoming it. Chickens really belong in a flock unless there's some extenuating circumstance that makes it difficult (i.e. special needs bird).

Also you said your father is against this and it's his home - where are you going to house the bird once it's older? Is it legal to have chickens where you live?

..yes its legal? every farm store here sells chicks, turkeys and ducks, my fathers mad because he does not like pets but hes putting up with it, and i will house the bird in a coop outside, she’s quite young and wont be needing a coop for a while.

The mirror and stuffed toy won't be enough when she is older.

It will be much easier on her to give her to someone with young chicks now than to try it when she is older.

I would rehome. It would definitely be better/happier off with a flock of chicks to keep him company.

living outside all on her own would be very stressful for her, and being flock animals they can become depressed. If you can't get her any friends, I agree with the others. As upsetting as it may be, she would be so much happier in a home with other chicks

Also do you already have a coop in place for when this one needs it, how will you afford that?
Pets not only require love they come with expense and if your dad isn’t onboard with this then rehoming her now may be the best option in the long run.
AND if it turns out to be a rooster crowing all the time, how will your dad feel about that?
No one is trying to be mean or unsupportive by suggesting rehoming, just realistic. I hope for your sake it all works out but I hope for the chicks sake she ultimate gets what she needs and deserves.

Either way you need to obey your father. You could talk to him and point out how the chick will be a practical pet (laying eggs), especially with egg prices and inflation.

I'm going to have to agree that this chick should be rehomed. If your dad already doesn't like the idea of having one chick, he's certainly not going to let you get everything you need to give this chick a good life, including flock mates. You can't keep a single chicken. They need to be in a flock. The minimum amount of chickens you should have is 3. You're also going to have to buy feed regularly, which is not cheap. You'll also have to build a coop, which is going to cost a lot too.

i kinda worded it wrong but, she has everything she needs, im on the move trying to convince him, its slowly working.
i can indeed afford her, she’s already got everything a chick could need and i honestly think shes gotten attached to me? yk those things chicks do when they follow u around, she does that, wont sleep without me and is pretty overall happy by what i can see, also apparently her breed was only sold as females, they didnt sell males apparently ?

Keeping her at this point is cruel to the chick.
