Help!

So yesterday a lil Serama hatched. He (yep, a boy) is perfect. All his little toes are accounted for. But he just doesn't seem -right-. It's been 24 hours and he will not eat and drink by himself.

He can stand up, but with effort and spends a lot of time rocking back on his hocks and sometimes falls backward. He props himself against items a lot when he sits upright.

In all aspects he seems vibrant, he's loud, his eyes are bright, he is responsive to touch and sound. I gave him a calorie/vitamin supplement and a bit of water so he won't crash from low blood sugar and no nutrients, but I need ideas.

What kind of supplement did you give him?

He sounds like he needs s little boost of electrolytes (like sav a chik) and a couple drops of nutri-drench straight to the beak.
Keep dipping his beak.
And make some mash with the chick crumbles.
Has he pooped yet?
He doesn’t have pasty butt? He’s warm enough but not too warm?

This is what I gave. I have reptiles so it was on hand, and I don't currently have nutridrench and my poly vi Sol is god-knows-where because we just moved..So I'm using what's here. I've seen miracles with it. And I've seen miracles with mice too. It's high in sugars so it keeps their blood sugar up.

I'll definitely make a mash. He's pooped and it looks normal. He is warm and no pasty bum.

I hope you have good luck with the jump start!
I’ve never used that product and the ingredients aren’t listed on the link. :fl

I found them. Its mostly sugars and vitamins.

Corn Syrup; Soybean Oil; Malt Syrup; Cod Liver Oil; Cane Molasses; Methylcellulose; Water; Gelatin By-products; Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12); Niacin; Thiamine HCI; Manganese Sulfate; Calcuim Pantothenate (source of Calcium and Pantothenic Acid); Pyridoxine HCI; Vitamin A Palmitate & D3 Supplement; Potassium Iodide (source of Iodine and Potassium); Iron Proteinate; Magnesium Sulfate; Riboflavin 5-Phosphate Sodium (source of Vitamin B2 and Phosphorus); Folic Acid; dl-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E); Sodium Benzoate (Preservative

I only gave him a tiny tiny bit so it shouldn't be enough to harm with the iron. ☺ like a pin head, Just a mouthful for his lil beak.

I just hatched a few chicks and I didn’t worry about food and water until they were about a day old. I taught the first one how to eat and drink by dipping my finger in the food or water after about two days he caught on and he taught the younger chicks how to do it.
