MissPrissy, when you get to talk to them Monday morning you need to talk to one of the managers or somebody with some authority and let them know what you have gone through this week, and they need to make it right. I was going to be ordering a couple hundred meaties and another hundred layers from them here real soon, but I will wait to see what kind of resolution you get on this first.

On the flipside though, we all make mistakes, and as long as they fix their customer service or lack of concern, that's fine and understandable. But, when someone acts like that, and then they fail to accept responsibility and correct the situation quickly, then I will move elsewhere to buy my products.

It is not their fault they are lost, but, they should be doing whatever possible to help you correct the situation.

Have you tried emailing them to see if by chance someone will be checking emails this weekend and can help you out somehow? Just a thought.

I wish you luck, and I feel sad for both you and those poor chicks! It just isn't right!

I would also refuse the delivery if they come Monday. We know what shape they will unfortunately be in if they do not arrive today. Such a shame!

man that is crappy!!!
i wont order from "that" place,, i go through ideal,, and deal with a woman named Missy Alonso ,, but for SOME reason my PO guys are good in this big city,, shoot, the dude that delivers all the mail to the main office calls me when he's bout a half hour away,,then the PO calls when they get there, and i say,, my wifers is in the parking lot already. this week ideal sent 1 of my orders early, and between me and ideal, i thought they were comming in with my other 100 chicks,, called missy ,, and she went round and round for 20 minutes till she found them ( they just left that morning, a day behind my others) , and she sounded as worried as me.
im sorry MP,,, that does suk!! and i would definitly refuse the package,, let them all smell that on their way back !!

I'm gonna jump on the P.O. bashing bandwagon here. It is a monopoly and their customers have no recourse of action when things turn stupid. We have soooo much trouble with the P.O. here. Our home mail arrives according to some schedule I can't figure out. We'll go a week with two pieces of junk mail, get normal mail for another week or two, then suddenly get a giant bundle of all the missing mail. It wouldn't be an issue if it were just junk mail, but I get a lot of business mail here. The person who delivers mail to our shop recently told one of our employees that she wouldn't be delivering any more mail until we moved our box, so she she wouldn't have to pry her fat butt off the seat. I called the P.O. manager. He just didn't care. He gave me the 'I'll look into it and call you right back' line. He didn't call back.
When I ordered chicks, I thought for sure there would be a problem with delivery. Apparently, chicks are the one thing they get right. They sent a truck out here just for the chickies. They may be incompetent, but at lest they aren't killers.

I am SOOO sorry for you, MissPrissy! You have a right to be really angry and upset over this. (Have to say that I loved your exploding smiley in your first post).

If those chicks died because of shipping errors, it's such a waste of young lives.

I hope you will refuse to accept the box if (and when) it arrives. Make sure you get some form of documentation from the Post Office about when it showed up so that you have it to get your money back from McMurray.

If you lived closer to me, I'd bring you a cake just to try to cheer you up...

If you by any chances hopefully receive the box sunday or monday please dont refuse the box.Open it in the post offices, there might be the chance for a few weak survivors(that are to weak and cold to peep). I would hate to see them die because you refused the box.

I agree - you'll never know if all or any or alive if you refuse the box and if any are alive they will be doomed to death. Open the box at the post office, take pictures - you can sitll put in whatever claims with the Post Office and the hatchery.

I still can't believe the shipper didn't use a tracking number - the P.O. does issue them - I've used them to track many packages - that's how I knew my Priority Mail package of BC Marans were sitting at the Jackson post office which was supposed to have a policy of calling our local P.O. and letting them know when live chicks arrived. Then someone from Jackson would drive them to McComb and someone from the Woodville P.O. would drive to McComb (1 hr away) and get them and bring them to Woodville. Didn't happen in my case. All 12 finally arrived alive but I lost two almost immediately. One was apparently trapped with its leg through the hole in side of box and had been trampled and pooped on pretty badly and was sort of smooshed, the other looked fine but I think drank itself to death because they were drinking like crazy and I didn't know to take the water away and about a half hour later it was dead.

Please try to save any that may still be alive in that box. I feel so bad for you but even worse when I think of those poor little chicks. I really do think it's cruel to ship live baby chicks/ducks. I had a bunch hatch just a few minutes ago and they are already eating and drinking. I put them in a brooder box and introduce them to food and water and they always start eating and drinking right away. How they survive three and four days without so much as a sip of water or bite to eat, I've yet to figure out - yeah, I know I've heard about how they absorb the yolk sac and all that but still.....
