And seduces Cardboard Chicken with a bit of food



While Askew puts him in his place

My roo's seem to like to say that there is a "better" nest... *cough cough* A place a wedged spot where there is spiders and dirt...

Other times they'll coo and SIT on the broodies. And then, sometimes they'll actually go broody!

My Nest Box Drill Sergeant does not allow such silly behavior in her coop!

I've seen her push Stan down the ramp.

I've got you beat. Out of 40 chickens, ages 4 months to six years, NINE have gone broody. I'm running out of nest boxes for the rest to lay in. And that's not including the three that have already hatched out their chicks.

At least I have plenty of nest boxes. That must be why that old timer chicken breeder told me one box per hen!
