Sorry everyone but i am so excited I think i might pop!
After making the decision yesterday to rescue the 8 eggs my evil baby eating hen was sitting on and put them in my "sort'of'bator" that took 30 seconds to make without having a stable temperature or any idea of the humidity - I currently have 3 live chicks in there and one currently pipping! And my thermometre/hygrometre arrived today (few!) so now i can tell you that the temp is 100f and 53% humidity
Some temp difference between the front and back and top and bottom of the bator, and I'm constantly adjusting it as the day heats up or cools by plugging the vents i made with cotton wool or opening them again. But so far it is working
I am so over the moon, the little ones are very bright and lively, all came out very cleanly from their eggs and are bouncing around in a group like they are having a party. So adorable to watch!
I will have to work out how to post photo's cos I just have to share this moment with those who can appreciate it
I'm off now to get the brooder prepared!
