One of my showgirls has been sitting on a nest of 10 eggs. Yesterday I heard a little peep peep and looked. I saw two little cochin chicks. I going to see this morning how many hatched out.:
Well she started out with 12 eggs. At 10 days I candled and 2 were no good. At 21 days the hatch started. This morning we are finshed. Out of 10 eggs 9 hatched. 7 cochins and 2 showgirls. I had to help the last showgirl out of the egg a little but they are all doing fine.
I let the mama hen keep 2 of the cochin chicks and I have the rest inside. I'll get some pics tomorrow and post them. I very proud this is the first hatch out of my own flock.
