I have our coop located by our garage entrances, in a pretty busy path of our outdoor areas. They see all of our deliveries, customers, guests etc. They're so curious and often on our cameras I see delivery drivers stopping to look at them. My business is run out of a shop on our property so we get a lot of deliveries!

The kids and I also stop and give them treats or table scraps quite often.

So they really like people.

I have one salmon Faverolle, she is now 2. She is so horrifically loud. Loud loud.

I'm a mechanic and sometimes I have tools and a compressor and music going, and I can tell someone is walking by because I hear her making that dinosaur sound demanding treats over all of that noise!

While our property is pretty big (for central NJ size), our house and the neighbor's house are located so close to each others property lines that I know they can hear her.

What have I done 🤣

Also is there a name for that noise they make?

My Salmon Faverolles is nicknamed Noisehole. Why yes she'll jump up on a roost to get closer to your ears so she can blast you with noise.

She's also taught our youngest birds to sing The Song Of Her People.

Neighbor has at least 2 roosters. But standing on the other side of their property I can hear my hens over their roosters.

This is why I always cringe when I read posts on here asking for recommendations for quiet breeds so the neighbors won't know they have chickens. They will always know. I have seen SF recommended in these threads. My first three EEs were relatively quiet hens, except for the "egg song" but my current EE is the aforementioned screamer. I swear, too, that they pass the baton. If Maeve isn't screaming, then my light Sussex or my blue Marans is.
