You know you have issues when your leopard geckos are laying eggs and your chickens are not.

I can't EAT leopard gecko eggs, dagnabbit.

Seriously, how big do these chickens have to get before they lay a dang egg? They are Welsummers, a little over four months old, and they look HUGE to me! Just lay something, already!!!

Well ... you probably could eat them with enough salt ... if you had a whoooole bunch of 'em

LOL! I think my 12 year old son would have an outright stroke! On the other hnd, I have more leopard geckos than I do chickens, so I am seeing some definite possibilities here...

For goodness sakes, how would you like to lay an egg at four months old?? They'll get around to it, don't worry.

In the meantime, you should hatch the baby geckoes! Get one of the chickies to brood them

Oh the wait for the 1st egg. I remember it so well. I think another month or so at least. I hate the wait checking the nest box everyday and nothing then one day there is an egg. I love leopard geckos would love to get one and a couple of ball pythons again.

Maybe a nice cheese omelette...

A week and a half ago I was feeling the same way. I spent an entire evening searching the forum, trying to figure out why our two Welsummers hadn't started laying yet. I was all set to go out the next day and buy some oyster shell, having decided the lack of calcium was a possible problem. But that afternoon, we finally got our first egg. A couple of days later the second one got going, and now they're really getting into the swing of things. They are six months old, and look what they've given us over the past several days:

Hang in there--your girls will probably come through shortly!

Aw, now those are some pretty eggs! I've never been well-known for my patience, but I'll try a little harder here.

Too bad the leopard gecko eggs aren't that pretty. Especially when the idiot gecko does a little hat dance on it and smooshes it nearly flat.

Now, I ask you, how am I supposed to cook a smooshed egg?
