I have eggs all over my yard!

I understand! I have new layers and twice I've found a stash of eggs! Just yesterday I found 4 in a large pot with my camelia plant. I replaced the eggs with a big red ceramic hen. Maybe it'll send the message.... "Hey! This is my spot!"

Then I need a place that sells ceramic hens wholesale! Can you imagine what my yard would look like after a summer, I'd need at LEAST 40!

I'm having a similar problem except they hop on top of the shed and jump into the neighbor's yard to lay in his utility trailer. I've clipped a wing on each of them but they still manage to jump and fly fairly well. Other than standing guard by the shed for the entire morning - I don't know what else to do!

Grrrrrr..... I guess I will have to keep them in the coop until noon for a few days and "reset" their laying habits!

I suppose I should tell the neighbor that he has a next full of eggs in his trailer... but I honestly don't like him much so I think I'll let them rot and wait for him to find them on his own (tee hee hee!)

I knew it was a matter of time and today I found the stash of eggs in the hay. Now I need to sort it. Toss the bad and monitor it for removing new eggs. I have one or two hens that like to hid eggs and their nest of choice is the stack of hay bales.

Those nests are fun to find IF you can get past the anger, I am always so mad at first, I just stare at the eggs in disbelief and marvel at my naughty hens.

Then I get over it of course.
