I have Glass. In my Foot.

Fill up a tub (like a rubbermaid bin) with hot water and bath salts (epsom salts), hot as you can take it, and soak your feet. Your feet will swell up and the glass will slowly be pushed out of your skin. once you get the edge up (it'll feel like leg stubble, press on the skin going away from the entry, and it'll squeeze out (like an ingrown hair).

Going to try again. BF is so worried about hurting me that I told him he just needed to get it out otherwise it was going to get even worse.

We've been doing the soaking, it does seem to help make it more accessible!

I'm a fan of the put glue on it, let the glue dry and when it peels off the glass comes with it. Problem is that works great for wood splinters, but glue doesn't adhere to glass well so I don't think it will work in this situation. If you keep digging (which is usually what I do) just make sure to disinfect tools and apply antibiotic to the area.

How about the baking soda trick. I know it works for metal spinters. Make a paste of baking soda and water. Put a big blob on the area with the spinter and cover with a bandaid or duct tape. Do this at bed time and leave it till morning. It seems to make the skin absorb water and push the splinter to the surface so it can be grabbed with tweezers.

I feel for you!

I still got a piece of glass in my foot over a year and still embedded in there. Some days it feels like it wants to come out and some days you dont feel anything. Pain in the butt if you ask me.

Hope you will get it out soon!

alternate soaking and applying a bandage with a generous amount of neosporin. I once had a huge splinter in my wrist from falling on a large dried plant. It was in over an inch deep, I just had to let it fester out. It took about a week. If your callouses are thick try to trim them down other wise Id say just let it stew.

No, I don't "think" so! I think me removing the calluses let my nice, newly smoothed skin get the glass in there. If I hadn't tried to have smoother feet, my calluses would have been rock hard against the glass!

I am betting that will work! Ichthammol is a drawing agent__use it on horses with absesses (you could likely find online or at feed store). It is yucky stuff though.

I feel your pain with the glass. I had what I thought was a sliver in my foot one time and when I pulled it out was a frickin WEDGE of glass! Totally freaked me out!
