a barrel trap will work for a skunk too you don't really need a very large barrel a deep bucket will work google dead fall before you use this option check your game laws a paiute trigger works better then a figure 4 ( easier to make too)

We have plenty of possums, skunks, coons, and snakes. But all these years i've had chickens only killed one long snake, it was 5ft 6''. And possum are in my dads buildings thy have nest there every year.

Ok so i have good news and bad news. bad news is the skunk or whatever found the other nest in the yard but good news left mama guinea alone... And more good news the guineas saw there nest destroyed and decided to make a nest in the hen house. ^.^ so now the eggs are safe. And for the peeps who tell me to secure they run or whatever i basically can't its my whole yard---I don't have enough money to put fince over the top. The yrds i guess not that big its maybe 2 and 1/2 acres. I mean there is a run on their coop but i let them out as soon as i wake up.

well hun honestly the best your going to do is be feeding the predators if you can't secure them up. Then nesting on the ground in the open yard is just begging for predators to come in for an easy snack. You are luck nothing has started eating the mama guineas yet.

If you want eggs and babies, your going to need to take the eggs up and incubate them yourself, thats about your only option.

This may sound crazy but i am having better luck with the guinea hhen than incubating. Idk what it is but i cant hatch a thing the only time that good amount hatch was when i took them away from mama guinea. And 70% hatched. hich was 7 keets. Idk what i do wrong. And i picked up all the guinea eggs out side. Right now everything's good. They are laying in the hen house and i've never had anyting get in there, not even a snake. And my mama guinea has a big diadvantage. She only has one wing. Which was last year with what i thot was a snunk or coon. They killed tons of keets last year.

If you suspect a skunk, find a piece of 6" chimney pipe that is smooth on the inside. Burry it straight up and down so it's level with the ground and put a egg in the bottom. The skunk will go in after the egg but can't get enough traction to get out and be stuck. After that, you're on your own as to disposing of it (I poured a bucket of water in and drowned mine)
