i bought my wife a mating pair of india blue peacocks.i could not believe the price of them . tell me what a mating pair is worth where you are from im from tx.i hope i got a good price . if any one ever told me i would pay that much for 2 birds i would have said they were crazy.i will post pictures tomorrow

They sell at First Monday (Canton) for $125.00 to $150.00 a head.

You didn't say how much you paid. I have been looking for a female or two, but DH WILL NOT pay that price for them, so I will just have to wait until I run across a couple of pea hens.

Where did you get them? Was it local?
Just curious, cause I am close to you.

I'm in Canada, but the local breeder charges $50 each, for cock or hen. This year's or last year's hatch. But I've also seen them elsewhere for $350 a breeding pair. I guess it pays to shop around

i got them locally.the guy only had the 2 and needed the money.based on the canton sale i got a good price.i know where there is a male peacock for sale reasonable

Thanks, but I ended up with 2 males. I sold one for $50.00 and kept one.
I'm looking for hens about a year old to go with my male.

at the montgomery trade day (here in the houston area), full growns were going for $150 a head. the cheapest i found were unsexed 2 month olds for $35 a head. breeding pairs that were about 4 months old were going for $85 to $100 a pair.
