I have no idea what breed or gender my chicken is!

I just recently went to a livestock auction and i saw the cutest, smallest chicken that i had ever seen. I decided to bid on it and got it, brought it home and put it in a small coop, but i did some research and am still at a total loss as to what breed it is. I don't even know if its a rooster or a hen considering i haven't heard it crow yet and i haven't seen any eggs in the coop. It has a very red and very prominent comb like a rooster would have but it has no extravagant tail or back feathers. I'm totally stumped and ANY suggestions or info would be more info then i have right now. So thank you in advance!

Yea, the people said at the auction that it was a rooster, but I felt as though I didn't really know if that was right or not!
