I have Olive, an easter egger, that I thought only had a case of bumblefoot. She started limping about a week ago, I started treatment: epsom salt baths, purid, foot wrapping. Then about 3 days in, she started to lay down a lot and then started isolating herself. When I picked her up, she left wetness on my lap. I saw there was wetness below her and she definitely needed a bath, which I gave. I also picked the scab, cleaned the foot and re-wrapped it. After her bath, I brought her in the house where she is now. She is eating like a champ, eating her favorite watermelon, she is also eating her feed, scrambled eggs with chopped garlic mixed in. Ive been giving chick boost in her water which she was drinking non-stop the two days before I brought her in but now she isn’t drinking much but I think the watermelon is pretty hydrating. She is still leaking fluids quite a bit though with loose stools mixed in. She is sleeping in between feeding binges. She stands but wobbles while walking. I have no idea what is going on with her. Anyone have this experience? Is there a website or some resource to research symptoms? Thank you for your time.

Is the watery discharge especially smelly on the acrid/pungent side? She may have two things going on. One is dehydration. The other is egg binding. She has symptoms of both, so it's wise to treat both symptoms. Give her one cup of water, not cold, with one teaspoon of sugar and a pinch of salt and baking soda. That will treat dehydration which the wobbles point to.

Then to treat for egg binding, give one whole calcium tablet directly into her beak. This stimulates contractions to push out a stuck egg.

The smell was pretty strong, now its not so bad. I am offering the electrolytes but I haven’t seen her drink. I will try the one you suggest.
Also, I don’t think she has been laying eggs for a looong while. She stopped shortly after her beat coop mate passed. Could be coincidence. 🤷🏽‍♀️. Could still be egg binding since she isnt too old to lay, there might be reproductive things happening.

bumblefoot is tricky i had several fights with this infections but always when the infection spread or gone too far the symptoms actually arise and limping laying down or not walking it means the pain is reaching the bone or joint because it affect the leg the main thing is to removal the infection in which u have to remove the head of the bumblefoot kernal in my case the kernal never found in early stages once the bumblefoot is ripe and infected u can easily find it looks like a whitehead in a pimple .. remove it wash it with silver solution 40ppm and wrap with silver ointment re-wrap after 48h again if u notice bleeding again silver solution wash and soak don’t use iodine idk people will don’t agree but i find that idodine cause some swelling idk maybe body to body is different in chickens i dont use iodine once i notice

i use silver and silver ointment
40ppm

and diet should be highly recommended like moringa , eggs white , vitamins B & A supplements helpful in treating this bad infection
