Well, fate intervened, and when I got to the feed store yesterday, no more chicks.. the sad thing is, I bought 2 tomato plants so I wouldn't look like I just came in for more chicks!! I even checked the chick cages 4 or 5 times as I walked around the store looking for a bigger feeder and another waterer... ohh well. The owner saw me looking and said he might have more in a few weeks!
