I have to talk POLISH!

Hello,
I've been trying to find out if Polish chickens are suppose to have blue ears. Mine are blue like a Silkies. Mine also have blue legs. I've been trying to look up info on Polish chickens but there isn't much out there. Thought maybe someone here could help.

My birds are about 3 months maybe 4 months old. I still can't tell the sex of them. I think I do have mostly boys judging from there head feathers.
Mine have blue ears.

Just joining in here are some of my polish:

Sexy - 7 weeks old. He's my favorite :)

The only hen from this group, still thinking of a name for her:

The other two boys I've decided to sell from the hatch:

Chicks from my 2 week old hatch: 7 tolbunts (one is a bantam); 1 buff crele, 1 cuckoo (single combed), the rest are either crele or gold-laced.

Well, I've been searching but can't find another Polish thread so I'm going to ask my question and hope this is the right place...

About twelve weeks ago I got 30 chicks from Murray, six of which are polish. They have been very entertaining babies to watch growing and more so every day. One thing that just has us flummoxed is their habit of sitting all the time. If they stand still for more than 30 seconds or so they just fold up and sit. Also, while they are grazing they prefer to sit and much on the grass that surrounds their little area. Some of the other chickens will do this once in awhile but these girls do it ALL the time!

Is this normal for polish or have I become chickie momma to the most laid back group of cuties ever hatched?

We have two polish chicks from a breeder here on BYC that dont exhibit this behavior. However, we have some chicks purchased from a hatchery and one gold laced Wyandotte does the exact same thing that you describe. She seems healthy, not lethargic and is growing well...but she always plops down. Tina

Hi All,
I went to BST but I don't think this qualifies and the bird is looking for a place through many venues (no auctions but ... ) any way I am trying to find a home for a white polish rooster. He's grumpy and has been breeding a Brahma to bare shoulders, he's probably hatchery, blue legs and a bit of yellowish color in the white (stain or pigment?). He's vetted and an interesting guy visually and a fervent breeder not hard on the girls just persistent . Temperament might improve with more run time and more girls and age .
Anyone that's interested can Pm me. Thanks I'll put pics up tomorrow but they are not great . He's your basic hatchery polish.
