I have to talk POLISH!

Sarah (mycutekitties) and Gretchen from Bare Necessities Farm have both sent me very lovely Polish chicks. Here's the first ones that I got that are starting to grow up now a little bit

And here's some new ones from Sarah just received on Monday

Take into consideration the heat factor when asking for chicks. I'm done for the summer. Just going to watch these babies grow, but you can't go wrong with either of those ladie's chicks.

LOVE YOUR BABIES! Thanks so much for the tip. mycutekitties is no longer shipping until fall but I have contacted Gretchen and am praying

Look at how cute they are!!!! You got my last shipment until the fall due to the weather. I can't wait to watch them grow!!

Crazyeggs4julie I know we talked about shipping and I know you don't have any incubator but I have an idea. I don't know if it would work so I'm just suggesting this. I know we have a few local feed stores that incubate eggs for you. They charge $1 an egg. Have you tried calling feed stores to see if they incubate? They typically use Sportsmans so you get a good result.
I sure wish I could help you. I just can't risk shipping in this heat. :(
I got super lucky with my last shipment above because it was only 74 that day.

Yeah ... the timing was perfect. The tropical storm off the coast sent a cool spell here for the the days before, during and after the shipment. Today is so hot here I can't stand to go out for a minute. It's brutal!

It's about 90 right now, not too bad. The week before I sent your chicks it was 104 for three days! I was worried! I'm so glad it worked out!

Just had to brag and ask a question... I have 2 hens that just started laying. I know one is Storm. I have not figured the other one out. Storm is grey with a white crest. She seems to be laying a light brown egg. The other egg is at the end it is white. Still trying to figure out who layed it. I thought Polish layed white eggs. I had them when I was younger and I don't remember brown. Any ideas? Oh the big white one is store bought.

Polish usually lay white eggs. The coloring on the pic is not good since the store bought egg looks brown too.
My hens lay a unique shaped egg...looks just like the egg on the bottom right. But all of mine are very white.
