I have to talk POLISH!

My daughter took 2nd in Novice and independent poultry showmanship using Peanut. Peanut took 2nd in the Clean legged bantams, All other combs division. Not too shabby. Our other birds did quite well too. A silkie of ours took first in the feather legged bantams, our bantam cochin took 4th in the same division, our phoenix pullet took first in Clean legged bantams, single comb, and our orpingtons took 2nd and 4th in heavyweight poultry. Oh and my turkey took 1st for young hens.
Good job!! I'm sure your daughter is happy.

Very exciting and lots of pretty ribbons to decorate the walls! Congratulations! So fun to see a chicken from a chick to full grown and see how it's life is going. Thanks for sharing.

Congrats 4chickmomma!! My daughter wants to start showing too. We will wait for our big fair next year, by then everyone will be fat and happy!!

Ok, I can't wait..but may or may not have to. What do you think now? He/she, is 5 weeks and 2 days old..lol...

He..or she? Thanks! I need to know, because someone is interested if it's a boy, I can't
have roos, and I love this bird, they live pretty far away, and will be taking it away by the end of the month if I don't know for sure. I am hoping for a girl..but be honest .. what do you think?

Love that baby cuckoo!

I just placed a classified ad on here looking for someone willing to fill and ship a small custom order of straight feather and frizzled polish day-olds (or even a couple of gentle juvenile PULLETS) to Texas. They don't have to be show quality, as they will just be pets for my 10-year-old daughter.

Looking for straight feathered cuckoo and would really love some frizzled blue or wc blue and frizzled buff laced.

If anyone happens to also breed showgirls, we'd LOVE a few of those as well in white, blue, or black.

PM me if you can help. Thanks!

I can't believe it! I have a polish hen who's gone broody

She's on 5 eggs, and I have an Easter Egger on 5 more - whoot whoot! The EE, Millie, should hatch hers about a week before the polish, Pretty Girl does. Can't wait to see what we end up with. I candled a couple under Millie and saw developement, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

The roos involved are a LF WC Black (smooth), and 2 frizzled bantams - a WC Blue and a WC Black. Hens are 1 LF WC Blue (smooth), the rest are bantams - smooth: WC Black, Bearded White (the broody), WC Splash and a frizzled WC Khaki.

It's possible that a couple of the eggs are from the Silver Spangled Hamburgs, but pretty doubtful (though, that would be awesome too! We've had no luck hatching those all year, and added some new roos and hen to the flock to increase fertility.)

Keeping my fingers crossed
