I have to talk POLISH!

OK, so here is a picture from today. Male or female??

What do I look for to determine sex in Polish? Should this chick's crest have more of a rounded feather to be female or does it change as she gets older?

It looks like a cockerel to me, but they can surprise you. Pullets usually have more rounded crests. The tell-tale signs of a roo will be pointy hackle feathers and red wattles and comb coming in. I always think frizzles are harder to tell gender on at a young age though.

I put my silkie pullet outside today, my rooster went nuts

Got his dancing on video!

It looks like it has a tiny little red waddle coming in. For this, I'd say roo. But it is still too young to know for sure.

How do judges handle standard polish at shows? Do they physically pick them up or do they just visually look at them in the cage?

Every show I have have been to, a judge took every bird, with the exception of turkeys, out of the cage and handled them. Even the HUGE LF brahmas that had to be caged with the turkeys. The judges want to get a feel of the weight and condition of a bird that you can't get through a cage.

oh... well I am going to have to handle my rooster more haha. He is a bit of a brat but he does settle down. Now another question. He is bearded. Is it a default if you can see a some of his waddles? They are small but visible. You can see in the video.
