I have to talk POLISH!

They are crele crossed with Tolbunt.
I respectfully disagree. The Candy Corn is a result of the Crele project started by Doug Kamer. I have some that hatched from eggs I purchased a few of years ago, before the Tolbunts were around.

Candy Corn and Tolbunt are two totally different colors. The Tolbunts are basically gold laced with a white tip on the end of the feather (Mottling on Gold Laced). The Candy Corn is variegated yellow, orange with black lacing.

So would mixing a crele bird with a laced bird result in something interesting ? I guess I need to study up on genetics but it seems easier to ask here. What gene cause mottling ? Is the gene a dominate one ? Is spangling related. I have both spangled and crele, guess I'll mix them and see what results. I like mix breeds anyway.

Here is a great link to the goal of the Tolbunt.

The Tolbunt Polish projects are just that Projects, and most have a long way to go.  In my opinion,  the breeders using Crele in their programs are setting themselves even farther back since their is soooo much genetic material in the Crele Project  including barring that does not belong in the Tolbunts.

That was a great article! Now I want Tolbunt Wyandottes.

I've ordered 4 polish to come over the next 3 months, I'm super excited, I've been wanting these guys for awhile now! I'm getting a golden, silver, buff, blue polish. In a few years I'm hoping to start breeding tolbunt polish.
