I have to talk POLISH!

Oh yes... I 'm getting 4 Silikes too and I have to get a roo in those. I picked my Silkie chicks out of a bunch of strait run and wound up with all pullets so I need a rooster.
6 years ago, I hatched 2 roos and a hen. From that point on all her chicks were girls, 4 generations. I still have 1 of the roos but he's retired.

I have to share this pic I got with my phone last night when the flock was roosting. Lady Gaga found her self a fluffy spot. Madam Turkey wasn't so thrilled...
Too funny! I know someone who is raising a lone chick with a baby bunny & the chick sits & even rides onto of the bunny! Cutest thing ever!!

Gaga is either very lazy or smart. She rides the turkeys, goats, and any human that stands still long enough for her to fly up on their shoulder. By far our most friendly bird. She will get down nose to nose with the cats and run them away from their food. What a character.

We have a Brahma that chases cats too. It is hilarious!

So my daughters prized possession-her polish cockerel and hen, are maturing nicely. I had put pics of them here a month or two ago and I asked about their quality for showing. I was disappointed to hear they were really show stock. The roo has changed alot. I took these last night. Let me know what you guys think for showing him. Thanks!!

I have a buff laced polish pullet who keeps getting her crest feathers wet. When they get wet, they freeze.

I'm thinking about giving her crest a hair cut, or rather, feather cut.

Does anyone know whether or not her crest feathers will continue growing? I don't want her to look mangy all year long...

To my understanding if you cut them they will be like that until she molts. Which I guess is better than a block of ice.
