I have to talk POLISH!

I have a question about my polish rooster that was born back in march this year. He is a beautiful bird. My question is do you call him 1) a red crested red

2) a white crested red

3) red crested black tailed red

4) a white crested black tailed red

5) your answer


Description of my rooster:

( I can not get a pic to upload of him)

A beautiful red body with red chest. He has a black/Beatle green tail. And his crest is what really confuses me. It came in all red but around the time he started to crow a white crest feather piped up then another and another and now he is a lovely 50/50 mix of red and white crest head feathers on a red body with a Beatle green/black tail.


Thanks in advance for you opinions on what you call his color!!!

there are white crested reds and there are red crested reds, they both have black tails so he is eater a red crested red that has been peck on and the feathers have grown back in white or or he is a white crested red. imo

Thanks I have had him from a day old chick. He has only been with 1 hen and was never peaked on. Idk maybe he just mixed. But good to know there isn't a black tail type it's just red or white crested. Thanks!

He looks just like that but has longer crest feathers snd about 50% of the feathers are white.

Awhile back I purchased 5 GLP pullets at my feed store. They were maybe 4 weeks old, and they had them on sale cause they were getting so big. Its the only chicken my DH has ever seen pics of and said, " oh I want those!" So I bought "him" some. Lol
Well I have been out of town for almost a month, & boy did they grow while I was gone!!! They are beautiful!!! They have the cutest hair! AND, it seems to have worked out great! No need to find a rooster, cause I believe I wound up with 4 pullets & 1 cockerel!!! I may just be addicted to Polish now! :/

Lol. THANKS! We were discussing where their pen will be built for next year, & I decided I'm going to sell my turkeys, so we can just use that pen. I will have to do a little work to it to make it safer. As we threw it together quick because my tom kept pooping on the neighbors porch and they have is 1 week or they would shoot him next time. We figured there were big enough to fend, from the smaller stuff, for themselves. But the polish def won't be. Its HUGE for 5 little Polish chickens. Looks like I'll have PLENTY of room for more!!!! Lol
