I have to talk POLISH!

Pics
I have had much better luck from people sending eggs that say "Fragile-Live chick embryos inside". I think "live" makes it more serious than eggs.

I still buy shipped eggs.

The boxes I receive are never severely damaged, but with the changes in the postal system, I do not receive the eggs within the 2-3 day priority shipment (it now takes a week).

I'm sure that probably lowers my hatchability, but I enjoy buying eggs of breeds that are not available in my location.

They are the BOMB!!!!!!!!

Thank you guys, I really was questionable about the frizzle before I got them, now I am in LOVE. These are my daughter's birds, so thus why I got them to begin with...Poor Lovely is molting something fierce, and I think Sugar is going into a molt as well, poor girls!

This picture makes them look REALLY yellow, when they aren't, it was just the sun was setting and everything had a tint to it.

I was impressed by their white-ness! They are really striking. When mine molted it looked like a feather pillow had burst in the pen.

oh yes, I asked the breeder not to bathe and pretty them up any - that way I know exactly what I'm getting not have high expectations for prepped and dolled up birds, that get out of condition in a couple days or weeks, and I'm like "*W.T.H" - I believe in seeing and showing a buyer what the true bird looks like...Even with dirty beards and a few dirt spots, the white- omg they are brilliantly white, the roo does have a bit of sunburn type yellowing on his back, but thats it. He is a really neat looking guy though. I tell you I didn't know standard polish were so big!

I don't know if I'd say they're really big, but they're bigger than some other breeds out there and good Polish are meatier and heavier than you'd think.

As for shipping, I always write LIVE EMBRYOS on my boxes. Keeps people guessing or thinking the wrong thing, thus making them more careful. The ladies working at my local PO thought I was literally shipping human embryos.

As for distance, I've shipped to NJ with good fertility/hatch rate before, good and bad things can always happen, but the safe distance I'd say is stay on your side of the Miss. river or Rockies if you're too worried. Personally I like receiving eggs from wherever, because if I really want something I'll get it.
