I have to talk POLISH!

miohippus I missed your beautiful pictures. How did you get they to stay put, bubble gum their feet in place.

They are such nice juvies, I can not even pick a favorite .
I have found that the trick to taking good photos of chickens has less to do with convincing them to stand still and more to do with getting a camera with a good "sports" mode. ;3

Folks I need some help. I posted this in the Emergencies/Diseases forum, but since you're Polish folk, maybe you can help me. Copying and pasting...
I feel terrible and I need my chicken license revoked. My poor polish rooster has become severely infested with mites, to the point that his eyes, and probably ears, are caked up with crud. I've scanned the forums looking for tips, and here is what I've done for him so far:
Dusted him with Sevin dust, which apparently didn't do the trick since they were still crawling all over him, and he went from one caked eye to two. Today I bathed him with flea and tick shampoo, cleaned off his eyes and tried to remove as much of the crud from his crest as I could. He's in the pet carrier with a warm fan blowing on him now to dry him off. Then he'll go into my brooder box, which has been thorough cleaned, sprayed and dusted with Sevin, and I think I'll dust him again, too.
Assuming I can kill off the mites, how do I get all of the crud off of him? And specifically, how can I get it off of his face? I read that this can cause permanent damage to him, but nothing specific about what that damage is.
Any help is appreciated. Please be gentle, I feel absolutely awful!
Thank you!
One gifted chicken with mites infested my flock when a wind storm blew down my corrals. Eprinex (Ivomec) topical in oil based solution two does one month apart did the trick. It can be found in rural feed stores and is used for beef and dairy cattle. I used an eye dropper and placed on drop on the lower neck after seperating the feathers. It needs to be on the skin to absorb. The last time I posted this, several people stated that they do not use chemicals. I like natural also but was very alarmed with the infestation and since my chickens are housed elsewhere I do not see them everyday.

You know I do have a camera that can be set in the sports mode but I have forgotten about that. I will try it because I been wanted to post pictures of my all grown up cockerel who is afraid of almost everything Ha ha Maybe he is not all grown up yet. He lives with 4 hens and one other male, a silkie and they grew up together.

just noticed one of my 6week old toes are crooked it it to old to splint them or dose that only work for realy young chicks

What do you experts think about this Polish? Is she any quality? I bought her from my friend (she was part of an Ideal Hatchery Polish assortment) as a chick. I'm not sure what color she is. She is either white with a lot of stray black, or a messed up Black Crested White. Is her crest too small? Also, should she have a comb? Because she doesn't.The black feathers go down her neck, there is one or two in the crest, and a tiny one in the wing. I was told her type was good. What do you all think? Is she SQ (or at least 4-H quality), and what color is she supposed to be? Please give your honest opinion.

(sorry about her dirty crest. She is clean everywhere else.)

Here she is sunbathing for fun.
I wish I had better pics, but she seems to only want to show me her butt... Or her sunbathing technique. There is a lot of black on the back of her neck, but the pics don't show it (kind of in the first).

(a younger pic of her) Also, is this normal? Notice how her beak hangs open at the tip? She still does that. When I pick her up, I can close it with my hands easily, but she always leaves it open a bit. Why would she do this? Can I fix it?
