I have had this hen for five years.






I bought her at a flea market just because she was so pretty. She has been a wonderful bird and still lays some eggs, but I had never been able to find a rooster for her. A couple of weeks ago I went to the poultry show in shawnee, OK. I was there for another breed, but remembered my little Polish hen and thought I would look for mate for her. There were no polish for sale in the sale area so I got a list of the owners of the show birds. I went around looking at the roos and found the one I like the most, and would you know it, he was for sale. Lucky me! Here he is. My little hen is so happy now.

Thanks. Now I just have to wait the six weeks for her to be clean of my other roosters and for her to lay some eggs. I can't wait to get some little Polish chicks!

My suggestion is to do research on photographing for a critique.  Most people are rather busy at this time of year and your photographs are almost top views and not in focus. You might have some nice roosters there but it is difficult to tell. So patience will be needed for some proper critiques.

I understand it's a busy time of year and not to be rude but if they are rather busy don't you think they wouldn't be on byc? Sorry I'm not a professional photographer but also like I said I AM BEGGINING and ASKING for advice so if I'm doing that I don't think I'd know how to take "proper cratique photos" lol just saying not trying to be rude... But thanks for that info!!!

Here are some critiquing photos I took for my boy when I got him. The photo's stink (he just got a bath and felt crappy) but you get the picture with the angles.

what would you say is mixed in her? i tried to get her at an auction to put in with my ee's but i lost her she did go for over 20 and they called her a polish but due to feathered legs and that very long neck there is something mixed in her
