I have to talk POLISH!

Just Struttin,
I don't suppose you'd be planning on selling any babies for fun anytime soon, would you? I've got a daughter who's crazy for Polish who LOVES these pics!
I was planning to offer eggs and chicks this year, but now think I will wait one more generation. I may offer started birds later this year.

Can any one tell me what kind of pol this hen is? She has spurs. I had never seen Polish birds before when I got her and Zsa Zsa (White Created Black) and I thought she was a rooster, because of the spurs. She also has a bright blue ears. You can see it in the bottom picture.

If you decide to offer started birds, we'd LOVE to get a pullet or two from you. My daughter has a little collection of 3 polish ladies and a showgirl of her own that she adores and carries around everywhere.

looks like it could be a buff polish/silkie mix maybe? But are you sure it's a hen? Looks like a cockerel.

Looks like a hen to me. Some hens will get spurs. Do you know how old she is? Her color is interesting - sorta between a buff and a buff laced. As chicksnheps suggested, could be part silkie. Does she have an extra toe? Cute bird!!!

Yeah the blue ears and extra large round crest/muffs/beard make me think of a silkie mpolish mix, I have seen some look like that.

She is a hen because she has been laying eggs for five years. She is at least six years old. I bought her along with my white crested black hen (Zsa Zsa) at a flea market in 2007. They have been great birds, even free ranging on my farm. I didn't know how much longer they would lay or live so I got worried that I would lose them without any offspring. So, when I was at the show in Shawnee last December, I bought one of the white crested black (WCB) stags that was in the show. I am mainly concerned about getting some chicks from Zsa Zsa and WCB stag (Gandolf), but I thought that I might as well let him breed with this other bird and see what she will throw. What do ya'll think?

The Polish crosses are fun! I say do it! I only have 3 polish, the hens are not laying yet. When I lost my Hamburg roo last summer to the heat, my Polish roo covered all the hens. I got some fun sex-link chicks. And I have some top hat Polish cross too. Those are all the most fun to watch out in the yard.
