I have to talk POLISH!

He went down fast. I was doing some things out side and cleaning and packing away all my brooder boxes and incubator. When I came in to check on him I rubbed my hand down his back he flapped one of his wings and stiffened up like he had a seizure. He did that one other time and then died. RIP Liberace
So sorry :(

Hi All, This is where Bowie often likes to put himself to "bed" until I come outside and close up the coop for the night! I have to fish him out of there and tuck him in with his girls. It's his Man Cave, or as I refer to it, Bowie's Man Basket. Yes, I know my petunias are dead. Thanks for indulging a proud mama! Katja
Oh my goodness that is hysterical! We get birds roosting in trees but none in flower baskets!

May I join in?

I have 6 that I hatched out 6 weeks ago. Here's the new kids. I believe the center bird in each picture is a roo, but time will tell. I'm certainly open to hearing opinions though.

They were 6 weeks old two days ago. So far I don't see any shiny thin feathers. I can't imagine that hatching 6, that I would get mostly pullets, but I can hope.

I guess they were content to just perch in the sunlight and warmth. My flock is diverse, by that I mean I have many different breeds together. I have had a little WCB polish bantam hen who was friends with the silkies. Just this summer I bought a few polish chicks. Kept only one since the other were crowing too loudly. So now my little WCB bantam has a friend who looks similar to her. They really do hang out with others who look alike. funny

They are such happy and friendly birds. We have a mixed flock too, but in a different coop. The Polish and Silkies get along great, but the others pull crest feathers out of the Polish. So we ended up with 2 coops. The ornamental coop, and the everyone else coop.
