I have to talk POLISH!

I've been talking about call ducks and so far so good. Of course I will have to wait until spring, we're neck deep in snow still. I've had enough winter already, I want to be able to untarp the runs and be able to see my birds again.
i have been wanting some call ducks too but from what i have herd they are one of the noisiest ducks because that is what they were bred for to call other ducks so the hunters could shot them.

Our first polish chick. It will be interesting to see if she's a girl as I'm suspecting, white or buff laced and bearded or non-bearded. Any thoughts? 5 days in this photo

LOL... I have 14 roos. I think... it sounds like a boys choir here. Funny thing is its always the 1 duck that wakes me up.
I ended up with 7 roos. I have to keep them because they carry Marek's. Or dispatch them, but I'm pretty attached to them all. I'm glad they are all not continuous or super loud crowers.

One of my Polish hens has spurs. In the past year she has gotten caught in the pen wire hanging upside down from a spur and nails. I'd like to take them off. Is there any way to remove them painlessly?

Believe it or not I will be rehoming a SilkieXd'Uccle cross roo and the last pair of juvenile d'Uccle. So that's 5 less roos. Pretty good for a week. Now hopefully the D'anver chicks will be pullets.

If I had to guess I would say roo. Thick legs high head and a "look at me attitude'. Keep us posted.

Edited: ooops, I thought you were asking what we thought boy/girl. Just realized you were asking about color and beards. Sorry. I guess I need to learn to read more carefully.

I would say non-bearded and perhaps white. Buff laced usually has gold around the eyes but it could turn out to be buff laced.

Hello, everybody has such beautiful buff laced polish. I'm planning on getting some buff laced polish.

Also, I'm posting here to get this topic going again, the other polish thread is having way to much bickering that there isn't much polish talk going on...

I seem to always have a Buff laced polish rooster. dogs have taken out about three of them since they can't see behind themselves when the wild dog is sneaking up behind

Now I have to keep all my Polish locked up.

My little 5 month old silver laced roo.
